Job's main responsibility:
As a member of a global team the successful candidate will be responsible
for supporting all statistical aspects of the company’s drug discovery
programs. This includes a wide variety of activities:
- Assist researchers in the design and analysis of in vitro and in vivo
animal experiments.
- Analyze data coming from studies with complex designs.
- Assist investigators in the proper use of statistical procedures and
software.
- Collaborate in the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and publications.
- Develop and administer training courses for various statistical methods.
- Support of software tools required to fulfill this mission.
In addition, the successful candidate will also be involved in solving data
analysis problems arising in Bioinformatics, High-Throughput Screening, and
Cheminformatics.
Candidate profile requirements:
The position has the following prerequisites:
1. A solid theoretical background in Statistics corresponding to a M.Sc. or
Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Mathematics, and at least 2 years of
experience with the practical use of statistical methods in biomedical
research, including experience with relevant statistical software.
2. The successful candidate should also possess good interpersonal and
communication skills (including proficiency in oral and written English),
allowing him or her to consult effectively with a variety of customers and
to work in multidisciplinary teams.
3. Strong individual initiative, good analytical and problem solving skills
and a willingness to constantly learn and expand one’s knowledge are also
important.
