MicrosoftTM Excel for Statistics? What you can and cannot do

This course gives practical experience in the use of Excel for data summary and presentation, and for other basic statistical work. It concentrates primarily on the areas where Excel really can excel. This includes organising data, i.e. basic data management, tabulation using Excel's pivot tables, and graphics. We also review Excel's facilities for further statistical applications and how add-ins, or other statistical software, can be used together with Excel.

Advanced Use of MicrosoftTM Excel

The ease with which MS Excel can be extended is a welcome and useful surprise for those who wish or need to use Excel for their statistical work.
This one-day course introduces participants to ways in which Excel can easily be extended using macros and other features of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Examples include simple programs to reorganise data and to perform simple statistical calculations.
