Dear all,
I've attached some job descriptions below, relating to a blue-chip
Pharmaceutical Company who are recruiting for several statisticians. I'd be
grateful if you could have a look, and get in touch with me if you're
interested, or would like further information.
Best wishes and happy Christmas,
Statistician/Senior Statistician, Pre Clinical Development,
Masters Degree. Senior role requires at least 3 years experience as a
consultant statistician.
We have two exciting opportunities for applied statisticians to work in our
Pre-Clinical Development Statistics group within the Statistical Sciences
department. Collaborating with scientists developing new compounds into
viable medicines, you will be encountering problems that are diverse and
demanding and require a creative flair for applying statistical knowledge.
This role will allow you to apply a wide variety of methodologies and will
challenge your statistical skills, especially as they relate to the
development of inhaled products and to process optimisation and control. A
particular opportunity will be for you to help introduce and promote lean
and six sigma ideas, practices and statistical techniques across
Pre-Clinical Development. You will need to enthusiastically and
knowledgeably promote your methods, maximising their benefit to our
business. For the more senior role you'll need at least three years'
experience as a consultant statistician in a scientific or manufacturing
field and this should preferably have involved pre-clinical development
within a pharmaceutical company. You'll ideally have a post-graduate
qualification in statistics and some experience of programming in a major
statistical package such as SAS or S-plus. Crucial to this challenge is that
you should have the communication skills and the drive to interact
successfully with colleagues at all levels and to influence effective
statistical practice.
Senior Statistician/Principal Statistician,
BSc in Maths or Statistics (or equivalent) MSc At least 5 years experience
in the pharmaceutical industry
Around the world, people rely on the dedication and innovation of this
pharmaceutical Company to help them lead longer, healthier, happier lives.
And we in turn depend on the skills of our Statistics and Programming teams
to ensure that all our major clinical trials generate the best results.
We've a number of high profile projects that would benefit from your
extensive expertise and you'll contribute to every aspect of the design and
analysis of trials in the development of major new drugs and indications.
Statistical expertise is an essential part of the process and you'll be
advising international clinical development programmes, researching
statistical methodology appropriate for new areas, building relationships
with various regulatory authorities, and contributing to commercialisation
strategies. Since you'll be working closely with physicians, clinical
research scientists, and data managers, excellent team-working and planning
skills are essential, along with a wide range of knowledge of the drug
development process. You'll have a minimum of five years experience along
with the ability to successfully contribute and influence within a cross
functional matrix environment
