Job Title: Medical Statistician

Salford Royal Hospitals NHS Trust is a teaching hospital of the University of
Manchester. We are seeking an experienced statistician to work closely with
the Trust’s Clinical Governance Lead, and to support and collaborate with
researchers in the Salford Primary Care Trust.
The postholder will join statisticians in the Academic Affairs Directorate who
have strong links with the Manchester Medical School’s Biostatistics Group.
An honorary University contract will be sought for suitable applicants.
Applicants will need to have a higher degree in applied statistics or equivalent
experience, excellent communication skills, experience of statistical consulting
for researchers, and the ability to work both independently and in
multidisciplinary teams. It will be advantageous to have teaching and research
experience, experience of medical statistics and the NHS, or an interest in
primary care.
The post is for three years in the first instance, with approximately half-time
working hours negotiable to suit the postholder. Appointment will be pro-rata on
the Clinical Scientist Grade B scale.
