Dear all
Apologies for the previous message which I sent without completing.
I am attempting to fit distributions to a sample of body mass index data which has been binned discretely. I am thinking of using some sort of kernel
smoothing technique (perhaps a Gaussian kernel) to fit a distribution to my sample data but cannot find any references on kernel smoothing, or if this
type of analysis has been done on obesity studies elsewhere.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone could point me in the direction of any useful references that would be helpful, or if anyone could recommend the
type of kernels that are typically used in these situations.
Many thanks in advance
Kind Regards
Sue
