STATISTICIAN/DATA MANAGER (REF: RH3)
Required to conduct research on HIV/STI prevention in Zimbabwe. The post holder will work on a community-randomised trial of an adolescent reproductive health intervention, the Regai Dzive Shiri project, in collaboration with researchers at the University of Zimbabwe, University College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. The trial aims to determine the effectiveness of the intervention in reducing the incidence of HIV, other sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancy among secondary school students in Zimbabwe. The post-holder will be employed by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and will be based full-time in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Applicants should ideally have a post-graduate qualification in statistics and practical experience of working in medical statistics, including experience of data analysis and familiarity with statistical and database software packages. The appointment will be for 12 months in the first instance, with possible annual renewal for up to 5 years. The appointment will be made on the non-clinical research fellow scale with basic salary in the range £18,260 to £27,339 depending on qualifications and experience, plus appropriate overseas allowances.
