FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS
======================================
Practical Bayesian Statistics 5
28-31 July 2003
======================================
The 5th Practical Bayesian Statistics conference will be hosted by the
Department of Statistics at the Open University in Milton Keynes, UK.
The meeting is co-sponsored by:
-- ISBA (International Society for Bayesian Analysis)
-- The Faculty of Mathematics and Computing at the Open University
Over the last couple of decades, Bayesian statistics has been experiencing
very rapid growth, and this is particularly marked in the number and
sophistication of the applications being reported. The Royal Statistical
Society, and the Institute of Statisticians before it, organised an
extremely successful series of conferences on the theme of "Practical
Bayesian Statistics". Practical Bayesian Statistics 5 will continue this
series and is intended as a forum for the presentation of recent
developments in practical Bayesian statistics. At this conference we would
like to give particular emphasis to practical Bayesian work which is not
merely "illustrative" of general models and methods, but also follows
through the practical aspects of the task, for example, in terms of using
genuine prior information, thorough model criticism and technology transfer.
The conference will include both invited and contributed talks, and poster
sessions.
Deadline for submission of abstracts: 1 February 2003
