KAROLINSKA INSTITUTET
Stockholm, Sweden
TWO TO FOUR POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN EPIDEMIOLOGY, GENETIC/MOLECULAR
EPIDEMIOLOGY AND BIOSTATISTICS
The Department of Medical Epidemiology has openings for postdocs'
interests in multidisciplinary training and research over a broad range
of genetic-, cancer-, reproductive-, nutritional and other areas of
chronic disease epidemiology as well as biostatistics. We are looking
for young, dedicated scholars, keen to integrate knowledge in
epidemiologic theory, modern biology and biostatistics, and to pursue
cutting edge research. The position is for 1-4 years.
Presently employing some hundred fifty staff with seven full professors
and about 40 graduate students, the Department is one of the biggest
epidemiology units in Europe. Unique Swedish resources and prerequisites
- such as the Twin Register, several large prospective studies, ongoing
nation wide case-control studies, large nation wide databases including
the cancer register and in-patient discharge register, record linkage
capabilities and access to clinical data as well as biologic material -
are effectively explored at the Department. Further information can be
found at http://www.mep.ki.se/
Please send a letter of application, the names and contact information
of three references and a short CV and brief statement of research goals
to Professor, Chair Hans-Olov Adami by mail (Department of Medical
Epidemiology, Karolinska Institutet, Box 281, SE-171 77 Stockholm,
Sweden) or e-mail ([log in to unmask]). Deadline for applications
is March 31, 2002.
