Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics

This is a permanent position with a starting date negotiable from
1 January 2003. The postholder is expected to play a full role in the
teaching and research activities of the Medical Statistics Unit.
Applicants should possess, or be about to complete, a PhD in a
biostatistical or related research area, have a proven ability in
methodological or collaborative research and be an enthusiastic
teacher and effective communicator. Appointment as Lecturer or Senior
Lecturer level will depend upon the experience of the successful
applicant.
The Medical Statistics Unit is one of three sections of the
Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Together with the Statistics
Section in the same department and the neighbouring Centre for
Applied Statistics, it forms one of the strongest statistical
research groups in the UK, and was rated 5* in the 2001 research
assessment exercise.
