Invitation To Tender - Advert
NHS R&D Methodology Programme
The NHS R & D Methodology Programme invites bids for a review of, and
primary research into, approaches to the elicitation of individuals'
(Bayesian) prior probabilities.
This activity is in theory central to Bayesian methods, increasingly widely
used in health care research, yet the evidence-base available to guide those
undertaking elicitation is limited.
The aim of this project is to identify and bring together the relevant
evidence, review it critically, identify the most pressing open question(s),
and conduct appropriate primary research.
The budget available is £200k (including all overheads), but applicants
should state what work would be undertaken for £150k and £200k. Work should
start as soon as possible, and last up to 3 years. Application forms and
further details are available from the NCCRM website:
<http://www.publichealth.bham.ac.uk/nccrm>
NB this server has been a bit 'flakey' recently, but in case of persistent
difficulty please e-mail, or contact Annette Evans on 0121 414 2226
Twelve copies of proposals must be submitted to NCCRM by close of business
on 15 November 2002, for consideration in a single stage process.

You may like to subscribe to the NCCRM's mailing list. The mailing list's
purpose is to ensure that subscribers receive prompt news of NCCRM activity
such as calls for research proposals. This is not a discussion list, all
'traffic' will come from NCCRM (and we will keep this to a minimum).
To subscribe either e-mail NCCRM at:
[log in to unmask]
asking to be subscribed, or (preferably) you can do it yourself by sending
an e-mail to:

containing the text:

end
as the first two lines of the message (NOT the subject - which is ignored)
Similarly, to unsubscribe send an e-mail message to the same address
containing the text:
unsubscribe methodology-news
end
