Research Fellow in Data Analysis and Education Policy
http://jobs.ac.uk/jobfiles/IK194.html
You will have the opportunity to apply skills in data analysis to a range of current developments in
education policy, with initial emphasis on post-compulsory education and training. You will also
contribute to the Centre's internationally-recognised capacity to undertake independent
interdisciplinary research on key areas of education in Scotland, in the UK and in the European Union.
As the Centre's research covers a wide range of topics and issues, there is scope for development of
research to match a variety of interests and experience, and there is also scope for the development of
appropriate advanced research methods. You should have a post-graduate degree or equivalent experience
of work in a social science discipline and skills in data analysis. Knowledge of education policy and
education systems, including the Scottish education system, and of research on secondary or post-
secondary education, the labour market and other transitions in youth would be an advantage. The post
is funded for three years, from October 2002 or as soon as possible thereafter. There are opportunities
to secure further funding for research projects that contribute to the Centre's strategic objectives.
Full-time or part-time appointments will be considered.
Salary scale: £24,435-£32,537p.a. (under review).
