I should have said that the offending phrase was removed from
the now discarded poem, which I never intended to preserve.
It is actually not a bad poem otherwise. And I hope the LRB
reaches Swarthmore before Darwish reads on Sunday. Yesterdays
TLS was anodyne in comparison in its two Ramallah pieces.
