Erminia,
For what it's worth, your English doesn't bother me in the least.
Keep the typos coming, robed as they are in rich thought.
I have an idea: When I come to read in Oxford this fall (thanks for
the invitation), let's take your taxi and drop by David Bircumshaw's
house in Coventry. Then we can all go by Lawrence Upton's place
in Leeds, pick him up, and we'll all drive together to the pub back at
Christ Church, where (it can be arranged, because he really is a
foreign exchange student at Cambridge) Richard Dillon will be
waiting in his red, white, and blue Uncle Sam hat, a round of
Guinness warm and waiting for us all at the corner table.
