Mary,
Hi - you could use the General Health Questionnaire - although it
examines symptoms of anxiety and depression, it has been used for many
years in looking at organisational stress (and is cheap!).
For a more in-depth look at work factors and coping strategy useage
(and a little about personality types), the OSI, Occ Stress Indicator
is a really useful tool. OSI is a little more expensive (about a £5
each) and needs you to do some paper based simple analysis (not much
more than adding up) - or you could pay for the supplier to do the
interpreting for you. I seem to recall they both come from a company
called nfer-nelson.
Hope this helps.

Hi everyone,
I've noticed that a significant number of persons returning Display
Screen Equipment health questionnaires are indicating they are stressed
at the end of a NORMAL working day, and naturally I will be following
up these individuals. I plan to identify "themes" from their
descriptions of "stress", but I thought I would also use a simple
"stress questionnaire". Can any one recommend/share a tool they have
used, is simple and doesn't require mega database/analysis skills
What I want to do is get a "feel" for the situation, with a view to
advising management.
regards,
Mary.
