I think the WT Regs are quite specific about breaks at work under Section 6
of the Regs. Look at www.dti.gov.uk/er/regs.htm and then look under Working
Time Regulations and then section 6 of that. You will see that an employer
has the right to take a 20 minute break for every 6 hours worked. However,
it will depend on the type of work that is being done. If a worker is
working in extremes of temperature there are other guidelines for example
and you already know about the HSE recommendations for DSE. Can you be more
specific about the type of work and the reason for your query?
