I agree that a 4-6 thousand word report every 3 years might not seem attractive.
But seeing as CPD is something we should all implicitly be doing as an integral
part of our jobs anyway (as you state), then providing evidence of our
continuing development (perhaps a portfolio of evidence e.g. a copy on disc of a
web page, or a copy of a conference report, or an extract of a training manual
produced) shouldn't be too difficult or time-consuming, especially if we got
into the habit of collecting things as we went along. Just press the "print"
button twice, or save an extra copy to CD, etc etc.
