sounds good. NRLS (in it's various incarnations!) had a similar idea - we
used to get a 'prefered order' list to use when applying round our own
regional libraries. I imagine this was based on useage rather than any
staffing/satisfaction levels tho I'm not sure what criteria were used.
Unity in it's original format also used to randomly change the order of
locations within the region, to avoid the same libraries always being
first, as they would be if listed numerically (especially since the first
public library on the NE list was Newcastle City who had good holdings but
were also busy) I haven't noticed - being a bit out of the loop recently
as far as bib checking goes - if Unityweb does the same.

Dear All
I would like to endorse what Neil Dalley said in a reply to this
message. It would be good if we could try to agree a Code of Practice
for sending requests to each other as well as improve the availability
of our holdings so that it is less time consuming to locate items. Many
years ago SCONUL had a Code which said that we should spread our
requests among libraries and avoid always using the same few. Perhaps
we should try to get an updated version covering all sectors?

London but at least if British Library don't have it anywhere we can find
our own locations subsequently. All this is rather unfortunate in our case
because at our Kedleston Road site we are struggling with a staffing
shortage and extra work is not what we're looking for right now!

anyone suggest an already existing organisation that might like to take

we all too busy????????
