Dear Colleagues,
I assume anyone in ITT has to subcribe to the weeklies TES and THES in
paper format, but how do you access the various electronic formats? Which
version[s] do you use?
Their websites? My view...Good for news and jobs parts of each issue, but
not for archive searching.
Their joint CD-ROM? My view...Full text back to 1994, but often months
behind and very difficult to search properly, e.g. the maths/mathematics
problem.
Via LEXIS/NEXIS? Appears to have the same stuff back to 1994, but up to date
to last issue, in Full Text...
Via BEI? Only partially indexed, and not in Full Text, obviously
At NTU we have 3 printed copies of each, in 3 separate libraries; and
for electronic access we subscribe to the CD-ROM and network it around the
University...but we also have LEXIS/NEXIS for other purposes, mainly
business studies.
What do you do?
Cheers John
