The School of Engineering at Durham University wishes to recruit a Lecturer
in Civil Engineering. The post is to teach courses in the field of civil
engineering hydraulics and hydrology. The research area of the applicant may
be in any area of interest to the School but hydraulics/hydrology would be

You will join a School graded 5 in the recent RAE, and a Civil Engineering
group with a strong research activity, both experimental and computational,
in airframe structures, boundary element and finite element applications,
geotechnical engineering, soil and ground water pollution, land remediation
technologies and structural engineering. You will have an excellent
potential for research, in these or other areas within the School and,
ideally, be a chartered civil engineer. You will undertake teaching
particularly, but not exclusively, in the area of civil engineering
hydraulics within the unified MEng and the other degrees offered by the
