Nah, I think they just didn't want to have to think about the design so they could get on with the content. Interestingly enough, although I
provided identical banners for each course (with ubiquitous scales of
justice) quite a few have designed their own and spent a long time doing
it. And I think that's a good thing.
I've had no comments from students about the design other than that it's
quite simple and easy to use and a couple said they liked the colourful
buttons. It's my impression that students judge Blackboard (after the
first impression) almost totally on content and are very critical about the
way information is organised and presented.
Does anyone know whether Bb 5.5 or 6 allows a bit more freedom with the
naming and order of buttons?
