Dear Marika / Roiyah
The title of my application was THE BLACK STRANGERS OF BRIXTON REVISITED - a
play on Shelia Patterson's title (Dark Strangers) and the fact that her work was
on Brixton. My general aim was to revisit the site, compare, contrast assess,
etc., what has happened since the time of her redsearch in the late 1950s and
the first years of the 1960s. The work would have included a team of 6-7
researchers from different disciplines, and spread over 5 years. The research
would be a relevant to Britain asa whole but focused on and around Brixton. I
felt that this is a task that my present university is well situated
(physiucally) to undertake, etc., and had full support of SBU. If you're
interested I could let you see the application at some point for yr comment,
etc.
Talk again soon
best
Harry
