Dear all,
Does anyone out there have any experience of using commercially available (and therefore CE marked) epileptic seizure detection devices. I'm looking for two sorts: One that monitors the individual during sleep and alerts someone in case a seizure is about to occur. Such a device could be based around EEGs or heart rate/blood property changes or limb movement or sound or a combination of the above. Obviously, the cheaper and easier it is for someone to set up and the more comfortable it is for the patient (to wear?) the better. The second sort of device I'm looking for is one that an individual could wear during the day. This is somewhat more difficult as in this case aesthetics would be more of a consideration and remote monitoring would be involved.
While searching for this I've come across a number of devices in the literature used in research projects but few commercially available devices. I'm not sure how reliable the commercially available devices are and would appreciate feedback from anyone who may have some experience of using these.
