* The Archives Hub has teamed up with the Women's Library this month, to
feature the 'Dirty Linen' exhibition, currently on display at the new
premises of the library (once Whitechapel Wash House). The Library's Ruth
Homan collection contains many items relating to the teaching of domestic
science in London schools at the end of the nineteenth century. Follow one
of the 'Further Links' to find out all about the introduction of school
dinners, courtesy of the PRO's 'Learning Curve'.
* Recent additions include descriptions from the Universities of Bristol,
Cambridge, Glasgow, and Leeds, and the University of Wales, Bangor; these
include records of the Society of Friends at Carlton Hill, Leeds, papers of
Welsh essayist Charles Ashton (1848-1899), papers of the Goldney family of
Bristol, notes of ornithologist Henry Seebohm (1832-1895), records of
shipowners
Ellerman Lines, and papers of economic historian George Checkland
(1916-1986):
