Copper sheeting for naval vessels is recorded as being supplied by Richard
Ladyman of the Byfleet (Surrey) mills for the Govnr. & Co of the Miners Royal
Mineral and Battery Co. [sic] in 1781
Cannot find any reference to this activity at these mills or why Byfleet
should have been used.
Similar activities are well known for mills on the Wandle. Is this an
extension of those?
