BIRKBECK COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
2 LECTURESHIPS/SENIOR LECTURESHIPS
The School of Economics, Mathematics and Statistics is
considering two appointments in the subject areas of
finance and economics at the rank of lecturer or senior
lecturer to begin October 2002. We will consider any field,
but may have a preference for mathematical finance or
mathematical economics. Mathematicians with a background in
numerical analysis and partial differential equations or
probability and statistics, and an active interest in
applications of their field to mathematical finance, are
also strongly encouraged to apply.
Candidates should have a PhD, or completion expected by
October 2002. A commitment to research is required and teaching
experience at the degree level is desirable. Candidates are
requested to provide a curriculum vita and a brief outline of
their research, including research plans for the future, and
should ask three referees to write to us directly.
Plans for a new MSc in Financial Engineering, also to start
October 2002, are in an advanced stage, and one of the two new
appointments is expected to become actively involved in the
teaching and organization of this MSc.
