Have a look at Dr Science's website http://www.drscience.com/ He has a
syndicated radio show which is apparently onthe BBC, though I've never
heard it.
Also try to find out about an improv. stand-up show from a few years back
called Modern Problems in Science by the Annoyance Theatre of Chicago.
They performed in Edinburgh at the Science Festival and at the Fringe
Festival. The show consisted of 3 "lecturers" with a few blackboards as
stage set. The lecturers undertook to prove whatever proposition members
of the audience chose to shout out - and they did! (examples: Big hair is
eternal; The success of Keanu Reeves is the cause of world poverty; Live
chickens constitute the earth's core.)
Ben Moor's work is worth a look - somewhere between stand-up and theatre.
he also did comedy links in the short lived BBC2 science magazine
programme Big Science and adapted the Professor Brainstawnm books for the
stage.

Hope this helps
