I still cannot understand this concept. Even after the reply to Mavis Kirkham. It sounds most interesting but:
1. How can you assess the care if it it simulated?
2. What will you do with the knowledge that you gain?
3. Isnt the care given by midwives, apart from possibly measurable physical aspects, an emotional and empathy based construct, that would be nearly impossible to assess?

I obviously didn’t phrase my question well enough. We are looking for a
means of assessing the care given, and this will be assessed
independently by two senior midwives and a ‘lay’ representative or
expert. The content of the ‘script’ we will use will likewise be determined
by a combination of people. As this is a simulated exercise (using
actresses) we may get some feedback from them, but we are looking at
different elements of care.
