UKOLUG Biennial Conference
Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers:
Exploiting the online environment for maximum advantage
20-21 June 2002
Jurys Inn, Birmingham
**The Conference**
The 2002 UKOLUG Biennial state of the art Conference will address the
concerns and considerations currently facing information
professionals. It will explore the latest trends and technologies in
online information provision. There will be the opportunity to see
these innovative technologies in action alongside practical papers
delivered by key players in the information industry.
The conference will update the knowledge base of all librarians,
information specialists and knowledge managers who work in
increasingly pressured and information intensive work environments and
need timely and convenient advice and tips on how to navigate and
exploit the ever- changing online environment. Bob McKee from CILIP:
the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, will
set the stage for a varied and informative programme with his keynote
speech.
The speakers are leading experts in their field and will present
papers offering practical help you can take back and implement in your
organization. Many of the topics will be backed up by live
demonstrations of software and systems in action so you can see it
really works!
In addition there will be ample opportunity for networking and meeting
like- minded professionals working in the library and information
sector, with a suitable balance of social activities, including a
conference dinner and reception, to provide some light relief from a
full and informative schedule.
**Who should attend**
The conference is suitable for all librarians, information
professionals and knowledge workers in any sector including arts,
humanities, education, research, business, commerce, law, science,
