I think you have very high ambitions on this "search engine"-question! I
know of no system that integrates all (or at least several)
e-journal-publishers into an interface that provides
fulltext-searchabiblity. The most realistic scenario is maybe a system based
on virtual integration of databases via z39.50, XML etc.
The existing systems I have seen only search metadata on the articles:
Title, author etc. and in some cases abstracts. We have such a system, DADS,
developed by another danish library, which integrates data from several
publishers. Ingenta and SwetsnetNavigator is probably more known by you.
Yes, TDNet only searches Tables of Content - and only a limited number of
months of data. TDNet has many other advantages - but it is not good as a
search interface.
