OOPS-161 Extreme Testing and Integration with Python
Andy Robinson, ReportLab Inc
VENUE: see below
The Python scripting language has been growing in leaps and bounds over
recent years, with a user base close to a million and numerous high profile
users including Industrial Light and Magic, NASA and more.
In particular it's probably the fastest way to script and extend
applications using other languages. This makes it an ideal way to rapidly
generate test cases for code written in C++, Java, COM, CORBA and other
programming environments, as well as to glue those systems together.
The talk gives a feel for the language itself, what it excels at, and how to
put it to work in these areas yourself.
Andy Robinson is CEO and Chief Architect of ReportLab Inc, a company making
direct-to-PDF reporting tools which rely on Python's unique data-acquisition
and scripting capabilities. He is co-author of O'Reilly's book "Python
Programming on Win32" and has many years experience consulting and
contracting.
