I would like to announce that the Versification special interest
mailing list, which has been in limbo for the past three years
while I looked for a suitable host, is now online and open for
business at the University of Washington. In conformity with
university rules, the list owner is Prof. Joseph Tate of the
English Department, but both he and I will will share
responsibility for supervising the list. At the end of this post, I
have included the official listproc server message on the
procedures for subscribing, unsubscribing and setting various
subscription parameters.
The Versification list is an unmoderated forum for the
discussion of all issues relating to literary prosody in the
world's major literatures. Prof. Tate and I invite those
interested in this vital and growing field to join us.
The full archives of the old Versification mailing list will soon be
available on the Versification web page, which is also migrating
to the University of Washington after a major facelift. These
archives are an invaluable resource on virtually all the major
controversies of literary prosody as argued by the world's key
scholars and researchers.
