Community health activist courses enable local people to take part in and
shape initiatives and decisions that affect the health of individuals and
communities.

Health-activist.net is the result of four pilot projects funded by the NHS
Northern and Yorkshire Regional Office. Their work and experiences are
shared here - along with the enthusiasm of professionals and local people
who have taken part. Their experiences have national relevance and the
outcomes are solid evidence of the boost an accredited course can provide
to community health action. This project was commissioned by NHS Northern
and Yorkshire Regional Office.
