Following a request from Peter Lennox, I have placed a recording of a
programme I made on my website.
Programme was on Radio 4
Tuesday 7 November 2000
11:02am Unearthing Mysteries New Series
Aubrey Manning looks into historical enigmas. 1: Sounds of the Stone Age.
Examining the theory that ancient stone circles and burial chambers might
have unique acoustic properties that gave rise to strange psychological
effects, meeting the archaeologists who are testing the theory.
If you go to
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/pnolan/unearth.mpz
it will ask whether you want to save the file.
Say yes (if you want to!) and save the file.
I have had to rename the file with an mpz extension - as ntl have been known
to be funny about customer who put mp3 files on their site. So, rename the
file mp3.
I created the file. I have virus checked the file with the latest Norton AV
version.
File is 3.7 meg - it's the smallest I could get the 30 minute programme and
it still be listenable. Considering the bitrate used it sounds remarkably
good - better than a normal radio listening R4 on LW.
Any problems, let me know.
When you have grabbed the file and have listened to it, let me know and I
can then free up some space on my website :)
I'll remove the file some time next week.
Kind regards
Paul
