helllo
a sonic treat
the playback of three interesting recordings of a music session recorded in
the stairspace of a block of flats. Some amazing electro -acoustic
pastiches emerge from the stair space. During the session the sonic
qualities of the Bluecoat Arts centre will be investigated tooo.
Maybe not strictly a sounscape composition, but the sense of plac(s) very
much imposing on the sound and atmosphere of the pieces
be there
Stairway to Memory : Tribute to Kenley Close
Bonehouse, digital recordings and live processing
Phil Morton : Double Bass
Phil Lucking : Bass Trumpet. trumpet and pocket trumpet
Phil Hargreaves, Neil Murphy. Live mix and soundprocessing.
A special feature
The Stairspace of the Kenly Close flats on Shiel Road provided Bonehouse
with a unique performance environment - a 22 storey high funnel of hard
walls and steps. A single performance captured at three different
locations, yielding three diverse recordings. Live mixes of the three
extroardinary recordings accompany Bonehouse in a ceremony to memory of
Kenley Close flats. Soon to be demolished.
