1. Scottish Geography Network list
As of January 2002, I will be taking up the position of Senior Research
Fellow (by secondment) at the Centre for Families and Relationships
(University of Edinburgh). Given that I will not be based in a Geography
Department and given that I've been list-owner for a few years, now is an
opportune moment to pass on the 'responsibility' for the Scottish Geography
Network list.
As you know, this is a low volume list and doesn't really require much
management. However, we do need a volunteer to be responsible for
disseminating news of HE Geography in Scotland (who has to be a full-time
member of staff in UK HE)
Please contact me direct if you are interested.
2. Caledonian University in Glasgow
Here at Caledonian, we are in the process of processing the details for a
someone to replace me - most likely a two-year fixed-term lectureship in
Human Geography, with a starting date in January/February 2002. Not yet
confirmed, but if and when it is, the deadline for receipt of applications
will be tight. It will be an ideal career development opportunity for
someone with, or about to soon acquire a PhD.
Feel free to contact me with regards to this.
Best wishes,
John
