The JISC RSC Scotland North & East is running a training event in Inverness
on 11 December, with demonstrations and workshops on the following online
resources:
LION (Literature Online) - a virtual library of over 100,000 works of
English literature - poetry, prose and drama - including full-texts,
critical articles, historical context, biographies and weblinks.
KnowUK - UK reference information, including biographies, parliamentary
debates, education and careers information - over 80 sources of reference
information.
KnowEurope - information about the institutions, structures, countries,
regions, peoples, policies and processes of the European Union and the
wider Europe.
Infotrac OneFile - instant access to periodical and news content from more
than 6,000 titles, both mainstream and specialised publications.
All these services are subject to a JISC licensing scheme, substantially
reducing the cost to colleges.
A programme is attached, and we would be grateful if you could bring this
to the attention of staff who may be interested.
