Dear colleagues,
if you ever needed a program that downloads text/html files from a web
site, may TextGrab http://www.textgrab.com is the right program. On the
web site there is also a demo version that you can download for free.
TextGrab (not the demo version) comes with RTags that removes HTML-tags
from a file. The new version RTags 1.1 now translates special characters
like ä or Ñ to the appropriate characters (Windows codepage
850) instead of deleting these characters.
There is a new version of WordStat (http://www.simstat.com), and Udo
Kuckartz released a new program called MAXQDA (http://www.maxqda.com),
the successor to Winmax.
The readability analysis of TextQuest (http://www.textquest.de/tqe.htm)
is currently extended to support readability formulas for Dutch, Danish,
French, Spanish, and Swedish. If you want to check your style, you can
now route long words, long sentences or complex sentences to an output
file for later inspection (the values of what is long/complex can be
changed). A test version is also available for free from the web site
mentioned above.
INTEXT, a 32 bit MS-DOS program for computer aided content anlalysis, is
now cheaper, prices were cut down by at least 50 %. This price will be
credited if you upgrade to TextQuest later on.
