Dear Amanda, Paul and Bob, thank you for your replies
They did fwd an acknowledgement slip promising a 6 week response, despite
several phone calls and e-mail I finally rec'd a response which was confusing
to say the least, an e-mail about a letter they had addressed to me about
someone else's article! Needlesss to say I had not received that or the
corrrect response to mine.
Despite the long wait for the birth of something that you beleive will make a
significant contribution to your work and that of others, no useful feedback
was provided at all, except that they are inundated with articles for a
monthly journal and cant possibly print all of them!.(except of course two
articles in the same journal by Michale Jacobs - move over darling!!!! ) and
some boring diatribe on the effect of the counsellors tissue box on the
client which is hardly cutting edge research. I have no idea, whether it
was the chosen subject matter, my style, or whatever.....
I agree with you Bob it is daunting that the counselling police puppeteer
their members, are there any other organisations that we could join, that
publish their own journal.
I wonder how articles are chosen for publication...any ideas?
Paul where do I locate the journal you mentioned British Journal of
Counselling and Guidance.
Thanks
Diana
<< Hi Diana,
I also wrote a letter to BACP for submission to the journal four months ago
without response or publication.
I was expressing concern that our and other students on accredited
counselling training courses are being charged over £100 joining fee, the
same as full members - as opposed to the minority of counselling students
who are enrolled on BACP's own accredited training courses who pay about
half that.
Our students are very agitated at in effect not being acknowledged as
students and I am concerned at the monopolistic and rather manipulative
pressures to prioritise the different and more expensive BACP accreditation
over others.
