medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Thanks, John. That's certainly a realistic possibility - and presumably
water from the washing of the shrine could have been treated as holy and
taken away in ampullae.
We are widening the search a bit - having discovered that Andrew is also
represented by a fishing net as well as the saltire cross. I'd like to
think it might be Peter as well - he was certainly popular in medieval
Wales, but he is almost always represented by the keys.
Many thanks
Maddy
