Artists' Railway Films - Lecture Theatre 1
Proposing the train as a form of cinema, and film as a means of transportation.
The programme includes work taken from three centuries and four
continents, from
the early 'phantom rides' (cameras attached to trains) to experimental films of
the 50's and 70's and artists' films of recent years: films in memory
of ancient
railways experiments with and without shutter-speeds, double and triple-screen,
expanded works / film performances, international train music...
