The Eton College Keynes Society is holding a meeting this coming Tuesday
6th November. The meeting will take place in Upper School at starts at
8-40pm.
The speaker is Peter Davies, Chief Economist, BP-Amoco and he will be
talking on the Global Oil Markets and the British Economy
Peter Davies is Chief Economist of British Petroleum in London where he
is responsible for BP's analysis of global energy and oil markets and
the external business environment. He is also responsible for the
publication of the BP Statistical Review of World Energy. He has held
previous posts as an economist at Chase Manhattan Bank, The World Bank,
the Government of Swaziland (as a Fellow of the Overseas Development
Institute) and the University of Warwick. He holds an MSc in Economics
from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics from the
University of Warwick
Colleagues from nearby schools are very welcome to attend - there is
also room for sixth form Economics students who might want to update
their knowledge and understanding of the global oil market - a common
question on exam papers!

This is the third meeting this term (Lea Paterson (The Times) and Ian
Stewart (Merrill Lynch) have already spoken) and Michael Matcalfe
(Credit Indo-Suiz), Anatole Kaletsky (The Times) and David Clementi
(Deputy Governor of the BoE) are also due to speak between now and
Christmas.
