Dear Colleagues,
A colleague and myself are beginning to gather information for a proposed new book on the impacts of educational technology on the development of rural communities. We would be interested to learn from you of any examples of successful applications of computer networks and/or computer-based learning by and with rural people (individually or in groups). We are interested, for example, in initiatives which enable access to learning resources not locally available; initiatives which enable and stimulate wider participation in inter/national affairs; and the use of educational technology to facilitate organizational planning and/or adult education by rural organizations.
If you have any contacts, comments, good/bad examples for case studies, and/or suggestions for further investigation, we would welcome your input at this stage.
Thank you for your assistance
