On that model, the generically-named document should probably also link
to the current version of 31 October at

        http://homes.ukoln.ac.uk/~lisrmh/DCMI-registry/funreq-20011031.html

I can't think of a better way to handle this in principle, though in
practice it is of course confusing and error-prone to keep these links,
filenames, and metadata straight.  At any rate, it would be helpful if
whatever document versioning conventions adopted by the Usage Board
could be used across the board on the DCMI Web site as a whole -- or
vice versa.
