Hi Sara. Your question reminds me of a book published a while back with
a title something like "Everything I Know I learned in Kindergarten"
and the Socratic notion that we possess knowledge innately and the
function of the teacher is to draw it out. Both are amusing. I'm
fascinated but the metamorphosis of educational jargon (behavioral
objectives, rubric, algorithms and other such nonsense) so that
educators will have a purpose-all the while education in the USA is
going to Pot.
I suggest you ask an engineer, a farmer, or a baker what critical
thinking is-embedded in their answers will be critical concepts for each
domain. What we PTs think is critical reasoning depends on the source.
All kidding aside, its a long process which can be enhanced to a degree.
