The British Council
MAKING A DIFFERENCE - WORLDWIDE
The British Council is the UK's international organisation for educational
and cultural relations. We aim to build and develop long-term relationships
with governments, organisations and people to provide mutual benefit and
promote a wider knowledge of UK language, arts, science, technology and
education.
Information Services Management is the engine room for leadership, change
and development for the British Council's global network of libraries,
information centres and learner support services in 223 locations across the
world.
We are in the midst of developing Knowledge and Learning Centres which will
transform and fuse the knowledge and learning activities offered by the
British Council. Our focus is on developing a stream of content to fuel and
energise the developments in our work in these areas across the world.
We provide a team of regional information advisers as well as management
support through standard setting and learning opportunities. However, we
currently have a range of opportunities for UK colleagues in the arena of
content development, technical support and developing services to learners.
Developments across the UK are moving fast and we aim to showcase and make
these evident across the world. If you are interested in making a
difference worldwide, then join us.
We have a range of opportunities now being advertised at
www.britishcouncil.org. However, in a new initiative to create more ongoing
relationship with the UK communities, we are also interested in short term
secondments and in consultancy arrangements. So whether you are an
institution or an individual, we want to hear from you
Our team of 50 staff are based in central Manchester - but remote working
arrangements can be made.
