CABINET OFFICE
Fast Stream, European and Recruitment Division
Dear Colleague
EU AWARENESS WEBSITE
You might not be aware that earlier this year we launched a new
website for the use of the Service-wide EU Awareness Network.
Designed to support the development of European professionalism
in the Civil Service, it contains links to EU training providers,
guidance on secondments to the EU institutions and other Member
States, practical information about Brussels, advice on EU
recruitment competitions, and a discussion forum in which to seek
and exchange views, information and best practice.
It has become clear that the potential usefulness of the site goes
considerably beyond the EU Awareness Network itself, and we see
no reason to exclude other colleagues who are interested in it and
can make use of it. Nothing on the site is particularly sensitive,
but, because we shortly intend to add to it a database of individuals
with various kinds of EU-related expertise and experience, access
is by password.
The site is at http://www.eu-aware.net. If you or any colleague with
an interest would like access to it, please feel free to request a
password, which you can do direct from the login page. Please,
though, to avoid an unmanageable number of passwords, do not
pursue this unless you are genuinely interested.
If you have any enquiries about the operation of the site, my
colleague Steve Swift (020 7276 1608), who administers it, will be
pleased to help.
Yours sincerely,
Martin Briggs
