Hello
Elias Mossialos, Gwyn Bevan and I have established a European Health Care
Systems Discussion Group (EHCSDG). The Group meets (so far at the LSE) 3 or
4 times each year for a two-day meeting (lunchtime to lunchtime), and at
each meeting a series a specially written papers on the health care systems
of the various European countries (and the issues therein) are discussed. Up
until now we've had papers that have covered health care systems generally.
For example, at the most recent meeting we had papers on Sweden, Spain and
Germany, but next year we will be moving on to themed meetings (for example,
we will be having a meeting on public/private initiatives across some
European countries, which Ray Robinson and others will be organising).
The Group is mainly for academic economists and political scientists (or
those with a strong interest in either/both of these disciplines). A maximum
of 40 people are allowed to attend each meeting, and I shall advertise
forthcoming meetings through the EHCSDG jiscmail list (original members of
the Group will be given priority regarding attendance, but there is always
likely to be some places up for grabs). If you are interested in the Group
and its activities, it would be a good idea to join the list.
