Hi!
I wonder would anyone be able to help here.
Refinements for the element format suggested in the the Qualified DC are extent
and medium.
Extent can be of two type (size and duration) and I wonder whether there is a
reason why ISO 8601 standard for the period-duration time is not suggested to be
used as encoding scheme for this refinement?
As I have introduced this encoding scheme I would like to know what would be a
proper way (i.e. more standardized) way of XML encoding.
<format type="extent" scheme="ISO8601">PT0H15M4S</format>
<format type="medium" scheme="IMT">audio/basic</format>
or
<format scheme="imt" extent="PT0H15M4S">audio/basic</format>
[any suggestions for the third one?]
Second example looks quite straightforward based on the guidelines available for
the DC Qualifiers but obviously this does not allow for size to be used along
with the duration or recording the encoding scheme used for duration.
Please also note that the entire "extent" content is going to be lost in the
process of dumbing-down in the second example.
Any advice is welcome
many thanks
