Dear Bob
Thanks for the hints. This works fine if you are concentrating on
development control work but what happens if you want to search
for finds data or use finds data to help in interpreting landscape?

Don't try to enter it all into Exegesis! Life is too short! My answer will
be to record the data in an excel document or whatever and put it onto a CD
and just record that event in the SMR. Better still, if you have some money
and a paper archive why not use Document Image Processing and let someone
else do it for you!
Happy New Year all!
More gain less pain (work).

Subject: Version 2 exegisis
We are having a few problems installing the new exegisis soft
ware. Are we alone? If you have or haven't had problems installing
version 2 I would be keen to hear.
On another matter - we are about to undertake a cleaning exercise
on the Worcestershire data and are thinking about how best to
enter the finds data. The finds database works well for single
identifiable finds but how do you enter a whole site assemblage in
a useful and not too massively time consuming way? I would be
very grateful for any useful hints.
Merry Christmas
Victoria
