Subject: EU local benefits research
Dear Simon
I am drawing together a list of benefits of EU membership for the FCO at as
local a level as possible, and I would be very grateful for any information
you are able to provide.
I am looking for real examples of people who have benefited in a practical
sense from our membership of the EU, using the widest range of examples
possible in terms of people (eg businesses, unemployed, pensioners,
students, children, organisations, women) and benefits (eg training, jobs,
export, travel, social benefits, European law, savings, education). Whilst I
imagine that most of these benefits will be linked to EU funding, there will
be those that are not - for example European Law.
Ideally, we will drill down to council level and make the information
available via our website and possibly leaflets, so that people can look up
their locality and find what benefits have been experienced there. I realise
that this will take time, and no doubt, many emails / phone calls!
I would also be grateful if you can suggest any other contacts.
If you are able to help, please email me: [log in to unmask] or phone

With thanks
